Travelling across to sunny Barcelona on the plane with a long list of retro-themed podcasts to listen to, I thought to myself "I would love to put together a retro podcast".  However, there are so many nowadays it's tough to differentiate yourself.

That got me thinking. What do *I* enjoy most from podcasts? After giving it a bit of thought, I conclude that the more technical the podcast the better.

But for any enjoyable podcast you need good material right.  A lot of podcasts out there browse the web for info, use Twitter and even their own network of friends.  This means that most of the time, I've heard about this information before I even hear the podcast.

So what can I do that's different?

I have been involved in computer programming all my life, so why not create a blog around programming, retro hardware and base a podcast on that?

My idea is to create a simple Noughts and Crosses (or 'Tic-Tac-Toe') program on retro hardware using it's in-built language.  Basic, Forth - whatever language it came with.

I am not looking to create a perfect version of the game in the language. It's meant to be fun and I get to learn about the many in-built languages using emulators (and sometimes real hardware) wherever possible.

So sit back and enjoy.  It's going to be a long, bumpy ride and I hope you enjoy it as much as I will!
